1997: became a test site for a new design in corneal topography developed by Euclid Systems.
1997: appeared on Channel 21 on a talk show discussing all aspects of eyecare.
1997: testified before the state house of representatives to increase optometric scope of practice.
1997: appeared on Channel 9 and Channel 7 warning viewers about watching a solar eclipse.

1996: co-founded first laser vision correction company in Maryland.

Dr. Gregory Katchuk


Dr. Gregory Katchuk joined Bethesda Vision Care in May, 2001. He is residency-trained in ocular disease, an achievement fewer than 5% of optometrists nationwide have completed. His skills span primary eye care, specialty contact lenses, pre- and post-operative LASIK care, management of surgical patients, as well as co-management of glaucoma and retinal vascular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Katchuk attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and is originally from Elmira, New York.

Dr. Marc Levy
Dr. Marc Levy recently joined Bethesda Vision Care in March, 2011 after practicing for twelve years in downtown Silver Spring, MD. He has been practicing Optometry since his graduation from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1989.  Dr. Levy enjoys all aspects of Optometry especially Contact Lenses, Lasik, and Neuro-Optometry. Dr. Levy enjoys private practice immensely - his single favorite part of practicing is watching families grow through the years and getting to know and genuinely care for them.
Dr. Michael J. Weitz

Dr. Weitz has a lifetime interest in alternative health care and personal experience in homeopathy, acupuncture, nutrition, ayurvedic medicine, acupressure, energy work, chiropractic and body work. He has been doing yoga and meditation for over thirty five years. He brings this holistic view to the practice of Optometry. Dr. Weitz is past president of the Central Maryland Optometric Society and past chairman of the Optometric Council of the National Capital. He has been interviewed on National Public Radio discussing the latest developments in contact lenses. He is a member of the International Academy of Orthokeratology, the American Optometric Association, the Maryland Optometric Association and the Central Maryland Optometric Society. He was  named a fellow of the International Academy of Orthokeratology . He is listed in the "Guide to America's Top Optometrists."
Dr. Jiyon Cheng

Dr. Cheng joins Bethesda Vision Care after practicing the last four years in College Park, MD.  She received her B.S from George Washington University and her doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern in 2001. Dr. Cheng enjoys all aspects of primary care optometry especially pediatrics. Dr. Cheng has tremendous experience when it comes to children but loves patients of all ages!
